An Infatuating Thought

"Infatuated by love or love to get infatuated?"
Infatuate means 'to cause to be foolish : deprive of sound judgment' While thinking of relationships this question hit my mind. We behave foolishly because we are in love or its love that makes us behave foolishly?or is it our innnermost instinct to be infatuated...and we are always on a hunt to find one to justify...means we just love to be foolish (infatuated). On the second thought is a successful relationship referred as Love and a failure as infatuation?

Would this be more enlightening?

"to inspire or possess with a foolish or unreasoning passion"

Behavior is usually foolish to the outsiders not to the concerned people.

- Nope, a feeling of attraction that fails to persist, is infatuation, in my opinion. Failed relationship is only ever a failed relationship. Infatuation is usually accompanied by a crush. Usually it's the people around you that try to explain away your illogical attraction with this word, just as long as you don't get too serious.
